Texas State Library and Archives Commission Becomes FamilySearch Affiliate Library

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has announced that its two public research facilities, the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building in Austin and the Sam Houston Regional Research Center in Liberty, have been awarded official certificates as affiliate libraries of FamilySearch. Austin, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has named Tim Gleisner as Assistant State Librarian. The agency conducted a national search for the position in early summer. Sarah Jacobson has been named the next Director of the Library Development and Networking Division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.  Previously, Ms. Jacobson served as the Director of the Talking Book Program Division for more than two years and prior to that held the position of Manager of Records Management Assistance for the State and Local Records Management Division for eight years. The Office of the Governor has announced a new appointment to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), effective immediately. Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Commissioner Nancy Painter Paup, with a term to expire Sept. 28, 2027. Additionally, Gov. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) recently awarded approximately $1.8 million in funding to 40 Texas libraries under its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grants Program through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
