Committee named for presidential search at Texas A&M University-Kingsville

A 16-member committee has been created to conduct a national search to find a successor to former Texas A&M University-Kingsville President Dr. Mark A. Hussey, Chancellor John Sharp announced Thursday. Prospective graduates at Texas A&M University-Kingsville received their degrees in person at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Javelina Stadium. This is the second time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic that commencement has been held in the stadium. At just under 600 prospective graduates, only one ceremony was needed to accommodate the students and their families in Javelina Stadium. Texas A&M-Kingsville Graduates Celebrate Commencement In Person At Javelina Stadium

After more than a year with only online, virtual commencement ceremonies, spring 2021 graduates at Texas A&M University-Kingsville were able to walk the stage in person outdoors at Javelina Stadium Friday and Saturday, May 7-8. This marks the first time in 20 years that graduation has been celebrated at the historic stadium. The last in-person commencement was fall 2019. Two ceremonies were held Friday. As COVID-19 continues to impact celebrations and get-togethers, Texas A&M University-Kingsville produced its third virtual commencement as nearly 650 students were prospective fall 2020 graduates. The administration at Texas A&M-Kingsville did not want their graduating seniors to miss the pomp and circumstance that surrounds commencement, so students were honored with a virtual ceremony.
