This new award gathers input from 12 officials and one referee to determine who should receive the award in each classification based on the semi-final match they officiated. By George Slaughter The Paetow Panthers made school history Thursday, winning their first-ever district title in football with a 55-13 win over Angleton at Legacy Stadium. The Panthers are 9-1 overall, 7-1 in district. The Wildcats are 7-3 overall, 5-3 in district. By George Slaughter Katy celebrated its homecoming with a 56-21 win over Tompkins Friday at Legacy Stadium. Unlike last year’s 24-19 Tompkins win, this one wasn’t close. Katy junior quarterback Caleb Koger completed 14-of-17 passes for 331 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite targets were seniors Nic Anderson and Antonio Silva. Katy ISD Updates Ticketing Policy for Basketball Games

By George Slaughter The Katy Independent School District Athletics Department Thursday updated its ticketing policy for basketball games in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, the district said parents of basketball players will be provided parent cards, and when they present those cards at games, they will be permitted to purchase up to four tickets. Katy ISD Announces Ticketing, Attendance Plans for Sports Events

By George Slaughter Legacy and Rhodes stadiums will be filled only to 50% capacity for sporting events this fall, under ticketing and attendance plans announced by the district in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The district said it will sell tickets to 40% of stadium capacity, with the remaining 10% to account for late-arriving passholders and parents of athletes.
