1,000+ volunteers at 5 locations will smoke 550+ turkeys and prepare more than 8,300 Thanksgiving meals (as of current registration/requests received from families in need/partner organizations) this Wednesday. American Legion flag retirement ceremony
Members of American Legion Post 164 in Katy conducted a flag retirement ceremony June 11 with assistance from Boy Scout Troop 73 and Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48. Hundreds of old flags from the community were burned in barrels. The ceremony outside the Elks Lodge followed a flag history ceremony by the Elks.
