Enough Time has Passed for You to Test Positive if You Were Exposed to COVID-19
If you were infected with COVID-19 during Easter weekend, it takes 5-7 days for your body to develop enough of the virus for the test to detect. Get tested now because knowledge is power. If you are positive, you can watch for symptoms to make sure you don’t become seriously ill and can quarantine for 14 days to protect others. If you are infected with COVID-19, but don’t have symptoms, you are still contagious and can isolate to protect people you live with. Four out of 10 infected people don’t have any symptoms.
Testing is free, easy to sign up for and quick at Harris County Public Health sites. You get your results in 3-5 days. When you are finishing with quarantine, get vaccinated as soon as you can. Children who aren’t old enough to be vaccinated, can and should be tested too. The HCPH sites below can test children who are under 13.
