Katy-Area Junior High Students Raise Money to Feed Homeless

By George Slaughter Students from five Katy Independent School District junior high schools raised over $5,000 to feed the homeless. The National Junior Honor Society chapters at Beck, Katy, McMeans, Seven Lakes, and Stockdick junior high schools collected gift cards and presented them to Hope Impacts, a local nonprofit organization. McMeans Junior High Re-Designated as a National School to Watch

By George Slaughter For a third time, McMeans Junior High, 21001 Westheimer Parkway, has been designated as a Texas School to Watch by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform and the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. The designations last for a three-year period.
