Texas Center for the Book Celebrates Children’s Literature Across All Communities with Lone Star Día, April 30

This April, Texans celebrate 27 years of Children’s Day, Book Day (El día de los niños, El día de los libros): a celebration of children, culture and literature. The Texas Center for the Book coined the term Lone Star Día for the Texas event and encourages statewide participation. “Books to the Border” Named 2020 Texas Center for the Book Literacy Award Winner

The Texas Center for the Book has announced that Books to the Border, a project of Trinity University Press, is the recipient of the fifth annual Texas Center for the Book Literacy Award. This $2,000 award, which honors a qualified 501(c)(3) organization that has made outstanding contributions to increasing literacy in Texas, is modeled on the Library of Congress’ annual literacy awards.
