On October 4, 2017, Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE) held their first meeting, after Hurricane Harvey, at Midway Barbeque with Aaron Alejandro as their guest speaker. On August 16, 2017, Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE) held its annual Hooky Day to kick off the new school year. Over 100 retired teachers were in attendance to kick off the new school year and to welcome newly retired teachers. KARE’s theme this year is “Teamwork is Key”.
