(HOUSTON) Temporary summer layoffs by local school districts helped nudge the Houston-area unemployment rate slightly higher to a not-seasonally-adjusted 4.0 percent in July, while the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for June slipped lower to 3.7 percent, according to numbers released this morning by Workforce Solutions.
