KATY, TX – Katy Independent School District has a rich history with Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Three Taylor High School FFA members added to that legacy, being awarded scholarships through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the State FFA Convention. Collectively, the students earned $86,000 in scholarships to continue their education.
Badges of honor that include early mornings, late nights, mud-caked boots and impeccable livestock impressed scholarship committee members in highly competitive fields.

Katy ISD FFA students represent the District, placing amongst the region’s best at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Jacob Baker received a $20,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Metropolitan Scholarship, a $10,000 Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation Scholarship and a $20,000 Rotary Club of Katy Scholarship.
Madelyn Roxburgh earned a $20,000 San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship.
Tristan Gore was awarded a $16,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship.
“These scholarships are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our FFA students,” Katy ISD Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Jeannie Knierim said. “Their success is reflective of the district’s commitment to student success.”
Katy ISD congratulates these Taylor FFA members for their accomplishments and the opportunities these scholarships accelerate for students in their educational journeys.
