Beloved Steakhouse Honors Nine Decades of History, Hospitality, and Signature Recipes
HOUSTON – Brenner’s Steakhouse, one of Houston’s most treasured dining institutions and oldest steakhouse, is celebrating 90 years of hospitality and exceptional cuisine. Since opening in 1936, the beloved restaurant has evolved into an iconic Texas Steakhouse destination while remaining true to its traditions.
As part of the celebration, Brenner’s will host its 90th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, October 26 at 5 p.m. at 10911 Katy Freeway. The evening will feature nostalgic bites inspired by Brenner’s iconic menus through the decades and an indulgent dessert station, alongside handcrafted cocktails, champagne toasts and spirits from partners Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Maestro Dobel Tequila, plus wines curated by a Master Sommelier in partnership with Beaulieu Vineyards. Guests will enjoy live music featuring timeless classics, a commemorative photo booth, and an anniversary questionnaire with prize drawings for a grand prize stay at the Post Oak Hotel, dinner for four at La Griglia, and dinner for two at Grotto Ristorante. Every guest will also receive an exclusive gift box featuring a $50 Brenner’s gift card, $25 gift cards to Grotto Ristorante and Cadillac Bar, an engraved rocks glass, a wine key, Brenner’s signature recipes, olive oil, and additional treats. Tickets are $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and are on sale now via Eventbrite.
Known for its prime steaks, picturesque gardens and warm hospitality, Brenner’s has been a gathering place for generations of Texans. Landry’s purchased and revitalized the historic property, preserving a cherished Houston landmark while honoring the Brenner’s vision. Many of the restaurant’s signature menu items remain favorites today, including the Crunchy German potatoes, Homemade Roquefort Salad Dressing, and the incomparable Apple Strudel. What started as a small café serving breakfast, sandwiches, and fried chicken has grown into one of the state’s most iconic dining destinations.

In 2007, Brenner’s on the Bayou opened along the banks of Buffalo Bayou, offering guests a secluded retreat surrounded by towering trees, waterfalls, lush gardens, and picturesque patios while maintaining the same dedication to exceptional cuisine and hospitality. Most recently, Brenner’s on the River Walk marks the newest addition to the Brenner’s family, opening in 2023 in the heart of San Antonio’s historic River Walk.
