1,500+ Pets Adoptable for $35 Each at Mega Adoption Event in Houston

National non-profit Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers™ team up with Brandywine Valley SPCA (BVSPCA) and Houston Animal Welfare Organizations for Mega Adoption Event on October 21st and 22nd at George R. Brown Convention Center.

WHO Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers™ will be hosting a Mega Adoption Event. Participating shelters will bring more than 1,500 puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats to the event to find homes.

WHAT The Mega Adoption Event will bring together in a single venue more than 1,500 cats and dogs hoping to find forever homes. Adoptables will include big dogs, small dogs, puppies, kittens, adults, and seniors. Adoption fees are just $35 for any pet, which includes spaying/neutering, current vaccinations, and microchipping.

This will be the third Mega Adoption Event in Houston powered by Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers™ in partnership with Brandywine Valley SPCA (BVSPCA). The first Mega in Houston took place in November 2019, and todate, Petco Love’s Mega Adoption Events in Houston have found homes for more than 2,500 pets.

“The energy and excitement at these Mega Adoption events are incredible, because, by the end of the day, the lives of so many pets and people are about to change and all for the better,” said Petco Love president, Susanne Kogut. “Shelter workers and volunteers work tirelessly to save these pets – and the feeling they get when the pets find loving homes fuels their passion to continue their lifesaving mission.”

“The Greater Houston area is filled with pet lovers,” said Aaron Johnson, Director of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, which is hosting the Mega Adoption event. “We’ve partnered with 20 amazing groups serving Houston and the surrounding communities to collaborate and create one of the largest pet adoption events in the country.” An expert in this type of large-scale event, the BVSPCA provides planning, logistical, and marketing support to help even more animals in need. Nine BVSPCA-led Mega Adoption Events powered by Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers™ over the last six years have found homes for more than 12,000 pets.

Adopters should bring a leash and collar for a dog adoption (also available for purchase), a carrier for a cat (cardboard carriers will be available for
purchase), a valid ID, and the $35 adoption fee.

A limited number of fast passes are available for purchase. Fast passes give potential adopters early access to the event on Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. General admission opens at 10 a.m.

About the Brandywine Valley SPCA
Founded in 1929, the Brandywine Valley SPCA is the first open-admission no-kill shelter in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In 2022, the BVSPCA cared for more than 18,000 lost, stray, owner surrendered, and abused and neglected animals while achieving a 95% live release rate. The BVSPCA provides animal protective services for Chester County and much of Delaware County in Pennsylvania, and it holds a five-year contract with the Delaware Office of Animal Welfare to provide state-wide animal services.
