Busy School Year for Cinco Ranch High School

Cinco Ranch High School students have been busy competing in several academic and club contests, continuing the Cougar tradition.

Bowling:

Cinco Ranch Boys and Girls Bowling teams competed at the Region VIII championships with teams from Katy and the Conroe area.

 

The Girls Varsity (pictured L-R: Holly Payne, Sydney Tran, Rheilyn Cox-Rodabaugh, Samantha Bailey, Inessa Tate, Captain Isadora Tate, Hailey Tran, Morgan Ferguson) edged Taylor to finish Second and earn a trip to State Championships on March 25.

The Boys Varsity: Captain Jack Conrad, Cutter Thompson, Anderson Tate, Gavin Tan, Daniel Idishkin, Dylan Lincoln, Adolofo Dittrich, Carson Wagner gave it their all, but in the end fell just short of qualifying for States.

In Singles, Cutter Thompson, Anderson Tate, Jack Conrad, Sydney Tran and Rheilyn Cox Rodabaugh all competed and played well but none advanced to state.

FFA @ Katy ISD Livestock Show & Rodeo:

These exhibitors worked hard over the last 9 months, 5 months, or 45 days to prepare their animals for the show ring.

Cinco Ranch HS had many members compete in the Katy ISD Floral Challenge, Special Rodeo, Best Buddies Grand Drive and Scramble in the Katy Rodeo. Cinco Ranch FFA brought home 8 Championship banners and sold 32 animal projects in the Live Premium Auction on Saturday! Katy ISD Livestock show broke a record of $945,000 going back to our exhibitors in premium sale, barn sale & add on’s!

Mrs. Gaines brought home the WIN against Seven Lakes & Mayde Creek Ag Teachers.

Technology Student Association (TSA):

The CRHS Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter participated in the Regional competition at Jordan HS. In the “STEM Olympics”, students compete in over one hundred events covering all aspects of STEM, ranging from Engineering Design to Photographic Technology and Digital Arts.

The CRHS Chapter advanced ten students to State in multiple events. State competition will be held in Fort Worth in April.

Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) Competition:

The CRHS Art Department had 70 students participate in the TAEA Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE). Students meet individually with a judge and participated in a critique that included prior written responses by the student and a discussion with their specific judge.

From the almost 2000 entries at the competition from multiple districts around Region 4W, 11 CRHS students had artwork chosen to advance to State VASE in April.

CRHS VEX Robotics to State Championship:

Two of Cinco’s Vex Robotics Teams have secured a spot in this year’s State Competition.

Team 24626Z, formed by Dimitris Kalafatis, Puneesh Kapoor, Stevie Oberhofer, Angelo Reyes, Arjun Somavarpu, and Delaney Tao, and Team 24626S with Barron Bryce, Aric Bulos, Nicolas Cohen, Tamim Hasan, and Lucca Marinaro will be participating in State Region 3 Championship.
