Lady Tigers Remain Flawless in District

In Tuesday’s basketball action, District 19-6A leader the Katy Lady Tigers outlasted Cinco Ranch, 60-52, to move within two games of a perfect district season.

In other girls’ Tuesday games, Seven Lakes dominated Paetow, 56-23.

Saturday games included these key matchups:

  • Cinco Ranch defeated Paetow, 60-32, as sophomore Aniya Foy scored a game-high 21 points, including 8-of-9 free throws. Dani Williams contributed 14 points, and C. Torrence added 10.
  • Tompkins stormed past Morton Ranch, 56-18 with 18 steals and by shooting 81 percent from the free throw stripe. Morton Ranch out-rebounded Tompkins, 37-29, but the Mavericks only hit 15 percent of field goal attempts.
  • Seven Lakes outlasted Jordan, 67-56, by taking a 41-21 first-half lead. The win helped the Lady Spartans avenge an earlier 42-22, according to MaxPreps stats.
  • Taylor defeated Mayde Creek, 52-42, after the Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 26-17 advantage at halftime.
