The Katy Independent School District Police Department donated a Crown Victoria police cruiser and a Toyota Scion to the Miller Career & Technology Center (MCTC) for student programs.

The MCTC, 1734 Katyland Drive, develops college and career-ready students through engaging, real-world experience. Junior and senior students from several Katy ISD high school campuses can supplement their core classes with specialized career and technology programs at MCTC.

Some of the programs offered at MCTC include automotive technology, culinary arts, and cyber security.

MCTC Principal Kelley Kirila said she’s overwhelmed with gratitude for the generous donation.

“The Crown Victoria police cruiser provides our criminal justice students with real-world experience when learning about dispatch communication and practicing traffic stops,” Kirila said. “And our automotive students will now have access to a reliable vehicle to practice maintenance services.”

Said Kevin Tabor, Katy ISD deputy police chief: “The Katy ISD Police Department is proud to support MCTC through these donations providing criminal justice and auto tech students additional tools for hands-on learning.”
