Katy Area EDC Leader LaCour to Depart Role Next Year

Katy Area Economic Development Council President/CEO Lance LaCour has announced he will be leaving his longtime post in the spring of 2022.

LaCour has led the organization for over 15 years during which time the Katy area population has over doubled in size. In his role, LaCour has overseen involvement of Katy Area EDC in a variety of growth projects which have led to the creation of thousands of jobs and positioned the Katy area as a top location for business and families.

“I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to lead this organization and be involved with the Katy area community,” said LaCour. “It was a very difficult decision to leave this role, and I would like to extend a special thank you to our Board of Governors for their strong leadership and vision during my time leading the EDC.”

At this time, the process to find a successor is underway in accordance with the organization’s succession plan. LaCour will continue to lead the organization and assist the newly appointed President/CEO with the transition process over the next year.

“On behalf of the Board of Governors, I thank Lance for his service to Katy Area EDC,” said Board Chair Rick Lawler. “We are sad to see him go but look forward to working with him over the next year in selecting his successor and continuing the great work for which our organization is known.”
