Brian Randle is stepping down as Mayde Creek High School athletics director and football coach to take a similar job at a new school named after his father.
According to reports, Randle is joining Dr. Thomas E. Randle High School in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Dr. Randle became superintendent of that district in 2001 and is retiring this year. The school is set to open this fall.
Brian Randle is the second consecutive Rams coach to leave to take over at a new school. Mike Rabe coached the Rams from 2015-2019 before joining the newly-opened Jordan High School.
Randle joined Mayde Creek in 2020 after spending the previous four seasons at Alief Taylor. He became something of a local social media sensation with his motivational videos posted to Twitter. The Rams finished with a 4-5 record in his one season at Mayde Creek.
Randle’s overall coaching record is 22-26.
