Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) issued the following statement after voting against the Democrat politically motivated resolution on the House floor today:
“While I did not support the president’s comments and publicly asked him to disavow them; this resolution only makes the U.S. House more divided on party lines and more poisonous. Instead of playing politics and wasting floor time, let’s work together – Democrats and Republicans – on the real issues most Americans care about: avoiding an upcoming default on our national debt, finishing all appropriations to eliminate a looming government shutdown and addressing the humanitarian crisis on our southern border.”
