Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) invited TX-22 middle and high school students to participate in the 2019 Congressional App Challenge. This app challenge is designed to challenge student’s creativity and encourage their participation in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
“It’s an honor to once again host this year’s congressional app-building challenge for our Texas middle and high school students,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “The technology field is constantly changing and growing, and computer applications are the way of the future. I’m continually impressed with the ingenuity of our students and encourage more participation to inspire interest in developing STEM skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.”
This event is open to all middle and high school students who live in the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. Students can submit an app individually or as part of a team. The winning app will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building and on the House of Representatives’ website, House.Gov. The deadline to apply is November 1st.
