National Nonprofit Good360 Receives $250,000 Grant from Center for Disaster Philanthropy

Grant Funds will Support Hurricane Harvey Recovery Efforts in Texas

Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) to support long-term recovery work after Hurricane Harvey’s impact nearly one year ago.

The aim of the grant is to help accelerate Hurricane Harvey recovery by solving challenges around logistics and the distribution of needed goods. The grant funds will also satisfy unmet product needs of nonprofit organizations working in long-term disaster recovery in southeast Texas. Specifically, by providing distribution methods and warehousing, the grant will support getting products to where they are needed, and storing and organizing them in a way that is easily accessible to Good360’s nonprofit partners.

“Natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey result in a lengthy recovery period that is often overlooked,” said Robert G. Ottenhoff, president and CEO of the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. “There are still gaps in providing needed goods to support the recovery of communities in southeast Texas. By partnering with Good360, we will make significant steps forward in closing these gaps by expanding product distribution capabilities in the area.”

“We activated in Texas within 72 hours of Harvey’s initial impact last summer,” said Howard Sherman, CEO of Good360, “and we continue to be on the ground in Houston and area in order to support our local nonprofit partners with the goods they need.  This collaboration with CDP will allow us to extend the work we do and ultimately serve a greater number of people whose needs are currently going unmet.”
