Brookwood Art Fest event on September 14-15

Brookwood Home Teacher Leah Prescott not only provides a wholesome living environment for the Citizens that live in the Follett Home, but she’s also a talented artist. Leah has taught the Follett residents to paint on canvas. These pieces and many other local artist’s work will be featured at the Brookwood Art Fest event on September 14-15, 2018.

 

Shop Local Vendors to Benefit Adults with Disabilities

WHO: The Brookwood Community provides an educational and social environment that creates meaningful jobs, builds a sense of belonging and awakens real purpose for adults with disabilities. As a nonprofit organization, Brookwood Community relies on the support of events like the Art Fest to fund the work programs and residential homes that serve over 225 special needs adults at the main campus in Brookshire and the Grand Parkway location inside Gallery Furniture.

WHAT: Join Brookwood Community for a weekend full of fun and shopping at the 2nd annual Art Fest benefiting Brookwood’s adults with special needs. Come shop for a good cause and let your retail dollar do double duty, just in time for fall and the kick off to the holiday season. This year’s event will include exceptional local Texas artists and vendors featuring fine art pieces, unique home décor and gifts, clothing, jewelry and much more, with 20% of all sales going directly back to Brookwood.

Visitors can also shop at Brookwood’s Gift and Garden Center filled with the Brookwood Citizen’s handcrafted products, unique market items and beautiful fall plants that were planted and meticulously cared for by the Citizens. Shoppers can also enjoy a delicious lunch in Brookwood’s gourmet Café.

WHEN: Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

*Enjoy lunch from 11am-2pm in the Café and the garden wine bar in the afternoon
