Cross Creek Ranch Hosts Springs Back Triathlon May 20

(Fulshear, TX – April 25, 2018)      —        Triathletes and duathletes can test their endurance at Cross Creek Ranch during the Springs Back Triathlon on May 20.

Registration is now open for the 6th annual USA Triathlon-sanctioned race. Athletes can choose between sprint and Olympic distance options, as well as triathlon and duathlon options.

The event starts at 6:45 a.m. with the 1.3-kilometer Olympic swim, followed by the 400-meter sprint swim. The swim will take place at the Fulshear community’s amenity lake located behind the Welcome Center, 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane.

“We invite everyone to enjoy a great spring day with us,” said Tina Whiteford, owner and race director for i Tri Events. “The lake is beautiful, and then athletes can enjoy a great flat ride and run on the beautiful Cross Creek Ranch trails.”

Sprint racers will follow up their swim with a 13-mile bike ride and a three-mile run. Olympic distance contestants will bike 43 kilometers and run 10 kilometers. The Olympic and spring duathlon run will start at 6:45 a.m.

An after party featuring music, food, massages and an awards ceremony will conclude the event. The top three finishers will receive awards. All athletes will receive tech shirts and finisher medals.

“We are very lucky to have such great natural amenities,” said Rob Bamford, general manager of Cross Creek Ranch. “I don’t think it’s possible for the Springs Back Triathlon to be held anywhere else. Just watching the sun rise over our lake before the event is worth coming out for.”

The race is open to all USA Triathlon members. Non-members interested in participating can purchase a one-day license during registration or at packet pick-up. A one-day license is $12 for ages 18 and older, with an annual license priced at $50. For more information, visit www.teamusa.org/USA-Triathlon/.

Individual registration is $90 for the sprint distance and $105 for the Olympic distance. Discounts are available for under 17 and active or retired military. To register or for more information, visit https://itrievents.com/springs-back-triathlon/.

Spanning 3,200 acres, Cross Creek Ranch is known for its extensive natural amenities including a community wildlife and bird sanctuary. Homes in the community are priced from the $220,000s.
