Learn About Henna Body Art At Cinco Ranch Branch Library Program

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program on “The Art of Henna” on Thursday, April 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

Professional henna artist Sakina Khuzeima Jafferjee will talk about the history of henna and its uses as a dye to create temporary body art. Learn how it is made, how it is applied, and how to take care of the designs after they are completed. Jafferjee will demonstrate different types of henna designs while she explains their significance.

Anyone who wishes to try a henna design must complete a consent form. This program is intended for all ages, but those under the age of 18 must have a consent form signed by a parent before coming into contact with the henna. A consent form is not required for those who do not wish to come into contact with the henna.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library at 281-395-1311 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
