Lance Mccullers Foundation & Houston Petset Hit Home Run With Pet Transport To California

(Houston) Still basking in the World Championship glow, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers, Jr and Houston PetSet board co-presidents Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist are proud to announce that more than a dozen pets transported from Houston PetSet animal rescue and shelter partners in Houston to the California Central Coast have already found loving forever homes since arriving on October 31!

Last month, more than fifty dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, many abandoned or left homeless after Hurricane Harvey, were transferred to shelters in San Louis Obispo and Santa Maria, California. The pets arrived just in time to watch Games 6 and 7 of the World Series between the Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“We are just astounded by the response from the two communities,” said Houston PetSet co-president Tama Lundquist, noting, “It would have been very hard to get them adopted in Houston, so knowing many have already found forever homes is truly heartwarming!”

Astros ace Lance McCullers, Jr, whose foundation underwrote the transport cost, said he was glad to know there are no hard feelings between Houston and the central coast, “and really opened their hearts and homes to adopt these pets. I am so happy to have been able to pitch in and help Houston PetSet and the other animal rescue organizations to get them adopted.”
