In celebration of Regency-era author Jane Austen’s birthday in December, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a festive demonstration of a traditional English Country Dance by members of the Houston Area Traditional Dance Society on Saturday, December 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.
Learn about the origins of the English Country Dance and its impact upon other styles of dance. Following the demonstration, the audience will have an opportunity to participate in a dance themselves, directed by an experienced dance instructor.
