Author announces publication of ‘Strength to Run’

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – In the new book, “Strength to Run: Hope and Strength in the Race of Suffering” (published by WestBow Press), Laura Wilson shares her journey through a battle against a dangerous, rare cancer that showed up without a warning.

“This book is honest and raw at times, but points to our hope in Christ when life doesn’t happen like we hoped it would,” Wilson says.

“Strength to Run” contains Wilson’s personal story of suffering with stage 4 cancer and tells of her unwavering trust in the sovereign God through real struggles, a brutal treatment regimen, and the physical, emotional and spiritual battles that came as unwelcomed guests. With Hebrews 12:1-2 as the theme, the story urges readers to cling to Christ, both when life is good and when life gets hard. The book is aimed at anyone who has suffered and is a story that shows how much people need each other during such trials.

An excerpt from “Strength to Run”:

The pages of this book share with you a story of hope. Hope in a God who held me close when my life was upside down. Hope in a God who walked with me when I could no longer be the mom I love to be and when the life of my family was in complete chaos. And hope in a God who cared in the midst of suffering and who picked me up when I could no longer stand.
