Field Trip: Laffite’s Cove

Laffite’s Cove on Galveston Island is a treasure trove of birds during spring migration. Reddish Egret, Swallow-tailed Kite, Cerulean Warbler, and Painted Bunting are all possibilities. While you observe the amazing waders, seabirds, and spring migrants, you’ll learn about migration and what you can do to help spring migrants. Notes: We will meet at the Arboretum and travel to the site in a van. Bring water, snacks, and a lunch, and dress appropriately for the weather. Binoculars will be available to borrow. Registration is limited, so sign up early! Ages 13 and up
