May 1, '22	May 2, '22	May 3, '22 10:30 am: Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library Has Abbreviated Children’s Program Schedule In May 10:30 am: Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library Has Abbreviated Children’s Program Schedule In May 10:30 am – 11:30 am May 3, 2022 In preparation for the Summer Reading Challenge, which begins May 30, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will have an abbreviated schedule of children’s programs in May. Family Story Time will take place during the first week ONLY. The children’s librarians will be preparing for the Summer Reading Challenge, which will begin May 30, for the rest of the month. Craft packets will be given out at the end of each program, so that children may take them home to enjoy. Family Story Time will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3 and 4, beginning at 10:30 am, in the Meeting Room of the library. The theme for the week is “Mother’s Day.” The summer schedule of activities will begin during the second week in June. Materials for these programs are made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. These programs are free and open to the public. More 12:00 pm: Cinco Ranch Branch Library Book Clubs Announce May Reading Selections 12:00 pm: Cinco Ranch Branch Library Book Clubs Announce May Reading Selections 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm May 4, 2022 Share your love of reading with other book lovers at one of the book clubs that meet monthly at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. New members are always welcome. The Literary Lunch League Book Club will meet on Wednesday, May 4, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Classroom. The book to be discussed is The Devil in the White City: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, written by Erik Larson. This title is available in print and digitally as an ebook and e-audiobook on OverDrive; additional print copies are available at the check-out desk. Those attending are invited to bring a lunch, if desired. This book club meets on the first Wednesday of every month. Members of the “The Butler Did It” Mystery Book Club meet on the second Thursday of the month, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Conference Classroom. The book club discussion on Thursday, May 12, will be on Walk the Wire, written by David Baldacci. This title is available in print, audio, and digitally as an ebook and e-audiobook on OverDrive; additional print copies are available at the check-out desk. More 2:00 pm: Learning English? Get Practice At Libraries’ Esl Conversation Circles 2:00 pm: Learning English? Get Practice At Libraries’ Esl Conversation Circles 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm May 4, 2022 Are you learning to speak English? Would you like some practice in a casual, informal atmosphere? Fort Bend County Libraries presents a program for individuals of all nationalities who would like a place to practice their English language and conversation skills. The “ESL Conversation Circles” provide an opportunity for non-English-speaking people to gather in a relaxed setting, and discuss topics of their own choosing while practicing their English skills. The ESL Conversation Circles will take place at multiple locations in the Fort Bend County library system in May. The schedule is as follows: Mission Bend Branch Library– 8421 Addicks Clodine Road o Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18, 25; 2:00-3:00 pm, Conference Room. Cinco Ranch Branch Library– 2620 Commercial Center Blvd, Katy o Fridays, May 13 and 27, 2:00-3:00 pm, Multi-purpose Room. The program is free and open to the public.
