Official fall enrollment surpasses the university’s first-day count, while Texas Tech welcomes a record 9,532 first-time-in-college students.
Texas Tech University’s fall 2026 enrollment officially reached 46,296 as of the 20th day of classes Monday (Sept. 21), establishing another enrollment record for the university.
The official count builds on the enrollment milestone Texas Tech announced on the first day of classes, when the university reported more than 45,000 students. Enrollment continued to increase during the opening weeks of the semester as students completed registration and other enrollment processes.
The final figure represents an increase of 3,841 students from a year ago and marks the fifth consecutive year of enrollment growth at Texas Tech. Since 2024, the university’s student body has grown by 13%.
Texas Tech also welcomed a record 9,532 first-time-in-college students this fall. The population has increased by almost 40% (39.88%) since 2024, reflecting continued growth in the university’s incoming classes.
Growth extends across the university. Undergraduate enrollment has increased by 4,916 students, or 15%, since 2024, while graduate enrollment has grown by 411 students, or 5%, during the same period.
