“With the passing of Gloria Steinem, we have lost one of our most courageous truth-tellers and a fearless champion for women’s equality. From her leadership of Ms. magazine to co-founding the National Women’s Political Caucus and beyond, her life told the story of progress. My prayers are with her family, her friends, and the millions of women and girls who looked to her for inspiration.
As the first woman to serve as Precinct 4 Commissioner, I know my seat at the table exists because Gloria and others like her paved the way. We will honor her legacy by continuing the fight for every woman to be seen, heard, and represented. May she rest in peace and power.”
