‘Teacher in the Library’ returns in September

Fort Bend County Libraries has announced that its Teacher in the Library service commences in September.

Teacher in the Library is a free service that connects students in grades 3 through 6 with qualified teachers who offer students after-school assistance at the library.

Beyond providing academic support in a safe, comfortable environment, this library service supplements and reinforces lessons students are learning in their classrooms and enhances their self-confidence by motivating them to succeed.

Starting on Sept. 8, Teacher in the Library will be offered at George Memorial Library, Mission Bend Branch Library, and Missouri City Branch Library, Monday through Thursday, from 3 to 6 pm.

During those hours, the educators will use a one-on-one approach to help students complete their homework assignments, prepare for tests, improve their study habits, understand library databases and electronics, and develop their overall confidence.

This library service is free and does not require an appointment.

Students may arrive at any time during the tutoring sessions on any day the service is offered, as their schedules permit or as homework needs arise. Students can also choose to attend as often or as little as they need.

George Memorial Library is located at 1001 Golfview Dr, Richmond; Mission Bend Branch Library is located at 8421 Addicks Clodine Rd, Houston; and the Missouri City Branch Library is located at 1530 Texas Parkway in Missouri City.
