WALLER COUNTY, TX — Commissioner Kendric D. Jones released an update on the progress, priorities, and community investments underway in Precinct 3, reaffirming his commitment to infrastructure improvements, responsible growth, and strong community partnerships.
“Serving as County Commissioner is a responsibility I take personally,” Jones said. “Precinct 3—home to Prairie View, Monaville, northern Pattison, Brookshire, and Katy—has shaped who I am. Every day, I work to honor that by leading with accessibility, accountability, and hard work.”
This past year, Precinct 3 has advanced key Infrastructure Projects, including road repairs and resurfacing, long‑overdue maintenance in underserved areas, and proactive planning for increased traffic as the county grows. Jones also emphasized continued collaboration with the Sheriff’s Office, Law Enforcement and first responders to ensure they have the Public Safety resources needed to keep residents safe.
In November, Waller County opened its new Courthouse Facility, centralizing essential services and improving efficiency for citizens. The event was well received by the citizens.
As one of Texas’ fastest‑growing counties, Waller County faces rapid development. Jones reaffirmed his commitment to Managing Growth the Right Way through fiscal responsibility, transparent budgeting, and development that respects the rural character residents value.
Jones is committed to Strengthening Community Connections with his ongoing support for youth programs, including 4‑H and other leadership initiatives, as well as expanded access for seniors through waived fees for Seasoned Senior Events. “When we invest in our people—young and seasoned—we strengthen the entire community,” he said.
Looking ahead, among Jones’s priorities for 2026 are: (1) Stronger Drainage Systems – continued ditch maintenance, culvert upgrades, and early intervention in high‑risk areas.
(2) Long‑Term Road Planning – strategic paving, traffic‑safety improvements, and durable roadway solutions.
(3) Community‑Centered Services – support for senior programs, youth development, and active community centers.
(4) Responsible Stewardship – smart, disciplined budgeting aligned with resident needs.
(5) Open Communication – more updates through newsletters, social media, town halls, and direct engagement.
Jones also acknowledged long‑standing concerns raised by residents. “Some issues have been with us for decades. We haven’t forgotten them. We’re prioritizing these areas and working toward lasting solutions—not temporary fixes.”
“It remains an honor to serve the people of Precinct 3,” Jones said. “Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more connected Waller County.”
Commissioner Jones invites the citizens to attend the Commissioner’s Cour Meeting on the First and Third Wednesday of each month, in person or on the County Network. You can also reach Commissioner Jones at Commissioner’s Office (979) 221-3086.
