Community members, prospective and current mentors invited to attend
(Katy, Texas) – The path to making a difference in a student’s life can start with a simple connection. Katy ISD Partners in Education will host the annual KEYS Mentoring Kickoff on Friday, September 25, from 8:00–10:00 a.m. at the Leonard E. Merrell Center.
Community members interested in mentoring are invited to attend the KEYS Kickoff to learn more about the program, hear from experienced mentors and discover how they can get involved.
Guests will hear inspiring stories from KEYS mentors about their mentoring journeys and experiences with their students. Following the program, guests can attend breakout sessions or mentor roundtables designed for prospective, new and current mentors. Sessions will offer practical tools, strategies and firsthand perspectives for every stage of the mentoring journey.
This year’s theme, “The Roadmap to Impact: Every Connection Creates a Path. Every Path Changes a Life,” reflects the heart of KEYS Mentoring: making a connection, building a relationship through consistency and time, and seeing the difference mentoring can make in a student’s life.
Doors open at 7:30 a.m., and the program begins at 8:00 a.m. with a welcome from Katy ISD Superintendent Dr. Ken Gregorski.
KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success) is Katy ISD’s mentoring program, connecting caring adults with students for one hour a week throughout the school year. Offered at all Katy ISD campuses, the program gives students a consistent source of encouragement and support.
