HOUSTON, TX – A man previously convicted of bank robbery is back in custody after allegedly threatening to shoot employees while robbing a bank in northwest Harris County.
On Friday, October 23, 2026, a man entered the PNC Bank at 14213 Cypress Rose Hill Road in Cypress and demanded money from a teller. During the robbery, the suspect threatened to pull out a gun and open fire inside the bank.
The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Violent Crimes Division detectives launched an investigation, working alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to gather surveillance footage from nearby businesses. The footage helped investigators identify a white Ford Crown Victoria that the suspect used to arrive and flee the area.
Using advanced license plate reader technology, detectives traced the vehicle to a home in Hockley, where they identified Samuel Everrett Williams II as the suspect.
Further investigation revealed that Williams was on parole until 2032 for a previous bank robbery conviction.
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force, HCSO, and the FBI arrested Williams.
He was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Robbery by Threat, a second-degree felony.
The investigation highlights the collaboration between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend suspects accused of violent crimes.
