On October 5th, 2025, the Season begins with a concert EVERYONE is sure to enjoy! The tonal colors of the band will be on display as we feature music from various genres, types, and styles. This SEASON OPENER will be one that you do not want to miss! (Go ahead and purchase your season tickets to ensure the best pricing!). The Band’s December concert, With Gratitude and Praise, will take place on December 7th, 2025. During this time of year, one often thinks of family, hope, faith and peace. This is the perfect opportunity to join with others, friends, family members and even make new acquaintances, as our community comes together in celebration. Provide your co-workers and neighbors with a gift of music to express to them your appreciation. Let’s enjoy the sounds of the season (and sing along) as we join with our community to share the spirit of the holidays! Individual tickets to this performance may be purchased at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=284554.

As spring approaches, the Lone Star Symphonic Band will perform the first of two spring concerts. The first, Swing into Spring, will be on March 1st, 2026. Just looking at the title of this concert, you may get your toes tapping, or your mind spinning! There are SO many ways to define the word “SPRING.” We agree and we agree musically as well. We are excited to announce that this concert will feature Ms. Bonnie Steele as a Guest Vocalist and will also include performances from the Lone Star Big Band! Individual tickets to this performance may be purchased at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=284555.

The second of the two springtime performances by the Lone Star Symphonic Band will be held on May 3rd, 2026. There’s Just Something About Music! As we prepare for the end of the school year and look forward to summertime, let’s ponder: How does music “fit” into my life? Why is music important? There are almost as many questions and quotes about the benefits of music as there are types of music in the world. This concert will feature selections to reach every listener in a personal way; ways which may differ from person-to-person. We are excited to announce that one such selection will feature the amazing concert pianist, Dr. Yoojin Lee Williams, as she performs the Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 15, Mvt.1, by Edvard Grieg. You will not want to miss this performance! Individual tickets to this performance may be purchased at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=284556.

On June 28,2026, the Lone Star Symphonic Band’s 33rd Season will conclude, as we do each year, with the Band’s Patriotic Concert – “…by the dawn’s early light…” EVERYONE has a story. It is the interweaving of each story with others that produces the strength of the fabric, the tapestry that forms our nation. From varying beginnings, backgrounds, cultures, and countries each of us matter, each of us is important. Together, WE celebrate America. We celebrate the birth of our great nation. We reflect on our past. We hope for our future. We honor those who have served and continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces. The LSSB Community Chorus will once again join the Lone Star Symphonic Band for this celebration. Individual tickets to this performance may be purchased at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=284557.

The Lone Star Symphonic Band is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to bringing performances of artistic merit to the Houston metropolitan area. Founded in 1993 as the West Houston Concert Band, the band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life and instills the value that music is a life-long event, continuing well beyond high school and college. In the summer of 2016, the Band began rehearsing and performing concerts at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, in Katy, Texas. In December 2012, the Lone Star Symphonic Band was awarded the Sudler Silver Scroll. The Sudler Silver Scroll is North America’s most prestigious award for Community Concert Bands. The award is presented by the John Philip Sousa Foundation (www.sousafoundation.net). The purpose of the award is to identify, recognize and honor those community bands that have demonstrated particularly exacting standards of excellence in concert activities over a period of years, and which have played a significant and leading role in the cultural and musical environment in their respective communities. The Band is under the direction of Mr. Bob Bryant.
