Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is an herbaceous perennial that serves as a host plant for caterpillars that morph into swallowtail butterflies.
It is one of many plants in the Herb Garden, one of nine gardens in the Demonstration Gardens of Fort Bend County Master Gardeners that will be open to the community on May 3 during our free Butterfly Celebration.
You’re invited to learn more about butterflies and plants that serve as hosts and provide food for butterflies from 9 a.m. to noon at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg. A fun day is planned with activities for the whole family.
