Master Gardeners prepare for fall sale

The Fort Bend County Master Gardeners invite you to join them on Oct. 12 to purchase the vegetable and herb plants that they’ve grown for you in the Extension Greenhouse.
Their fall vegetable/herb plant sale will be open from 9 a.m.-noon or until sold out Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Extension Education Center (The Range), 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg.
The Master Gardeners have been meeting weekly to nurture the varieties of plants that they’ve selected for the sale. Their plants are recommended as suitable for Fort Bend County gardens.
“The buttercrunch lettuce looks beautiful,” said Master Gardener Suzanne Welch. “It’s very full already.”
Other varieties of lettuce plants at the sale will include Arugula, Black-Seeded Simpson-Heirloom, Oakleaf and Red Salad Bowl.
Visit FBMG-2024FallVHSPlantList-Web-NoDescriptions (2).pdf to check what other vegetable and herb plants will be at the sale.
Plants will sell for $3 apiece and can be purchased with cash, check or credit card. No pets or wagons are allowed in the Range. The sale will include a hold area, where shoppers can temporarily store their plants while they continue shopping. Arrive early for the best selection.
