Harris County Pets Offering Pet Licensing Promotions!

Promotions begin today through February 28, 2023

Harris County Pets (HCP) is offering several licensing promotions at a reduced price for pets now through February 28, 2023. This will also be a great opportunity to encourage pet owners in unincorporated Harris County (outside the City of Houston) to get their furry companion spayed/neutered if they have yet to do so.

The promotions that HCP is offering are as follows:

  • $30: Includes rabies vaccination/microchip/one-year ALTERED (spayed/neutered) pet license
  • $50: Includes rabies vaccination/microchip/one-year UNALTERED (not spayed/neutered) pet license
  • Only for pets who are current on their rabies vaccine and have a verifiable microchip:

o $10: Includes one-year ALTERED pet license

o $40: Includes one-year UNALTERED pet license

All pets in unincorporated Harris County are required by law to have an up-to-date pet license. Pets that are brought to HCP must have/purchase a current pet license. There are several benefits to licensing your pet:

  • Helps you save money: A current license can prevent a fine of up to $500 per pet. Pets three months of age or older are required to have a pet license.
  • Helps reunite a pet with its rightful owner: Lost pets can be easily identified and quickly returned to their home.
  • Supports Harris County Pets: Licensing fees support Harris County Pets and allow us to provide animal control and public health services.
  • Helps keep the community safe: Licensed pets ensure that rabies vaccines are current, protecting your pet, your family, and your community.
