City of Katy’s Freedom Celebration July 4 Fireworks Show to Cap Off Four-Day Red, White & Boom at Typhoon Texas

KATY, TX (June 28, 2022) – Typhoon Texas will again partner with the City of Katy to celebrate the Fourth of July as the west Houston waterpark presents Red, White & Boom, four days of patriotic, family fun with extended hours starting Friday, July 1 capped off by the city’s Freedom Celebration July 4 fireworks show.

The City of Katy’s Freedom Celebration July 4 fireworks spectacular starts at 9 p.m. with optimal viewing from inside the waterpark or at the adjacent Katy Mills Mall.

Leading up to the fireworks, in-park patrons will enjoy a thrilling performance by the high-flying Typhoon Texas Skydivers (weather and wind speed permitting) along with live music from Trey Rose (Season 16 of The Voice) and Kate Watson (season 17 of American Idol) among a host of other activities.

Typhoon Texas kicks off the Fourth of July holiday on Friday, July 1 with the return of Red, White & Boom, four days of in-park fun amidst more than a mile of winding, twisting slide paths, Texas-size wave pool, Lazy River and children’s Gully Washer. Guests can mingle with patriotic stilt walkers and Hula Hoopers, try their skill at an Uncle Sam dunking booth and test their appetite with an old-fashioned pie-eating contest. Children will enjoy a patriotic craft station while the aroma of low ‘n slow-smoked Texas BBQ, DJ sounds and inspiring live music fills their air.

Typhoon Texas will operate with extended hours during Red, White & Boom: Friday – Sunday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; and Monday 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

The waterpark is located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd. next to Katy Mills Mall, 1.5 miles west of the Grand Parkway. Free onsite parking, free tubes and free life jackets are available.
