Lifelong Friends Derek Butts, Christina Popoola and Rashad Brisbane Open New VaVia Franchise in Houston

The fast-growing mobile waste removal franchise has partnered with Butts, Popoola and Brisbane to bring its tech-forward waste disposal services to Houston

Houston, get ready for an elevated, modern waste removal experience. VaVia (Italian for “it goes away”) has become the premier player in the growing waste-removal industry with its proprietary technology, streamlined operations and a leadership team backed by a combined 50-plus years of experience in the waste, franchising and technology development industries. And now, the brand is operating in Houston.

The location at 4214 Creekmont Drive in Houston opened this fall and offers the brand’s reliable services and proprietary technology that allows customers to order and schedule deliveries or pickups of dumpsters online.

The new location will be owned and operated by Houston locals Rashad Brisbane and husband and wife Derek Butts and Christina Popoola, who are excited to introduce VaVia’s uniquely tech-forward waste removal services to contractors, construction companies, renovators, remodelers and more across Houston.

Butts and Popoola have always had a passion for flipping houses and helping others declutter their homes. Now, alongside their lifelong best friend Brisbane, the three are joining VaVia to pursue their professional careers to help those with similar passions and serve those seeking this necessary service.

“VaVia is committed to superior customer service, and we plan to establish and maintain a strong reputation that is in line with the entire VaVia system,” says Butts. “There’s a lot of growth within the market, which creates the opportunity for us to tap into that demand. We look forward to building relationships with and giving back to the people in our community.”

The new Houston location is part of VaVia’s plan to sign 100 franchises by 2026. By the end of 2021, VaVia hopes to have 14 units signed, and according to co-founder, COO and president Phillip Nappi, Houston is particularly ripe for expansion.

“We’re thrilled to bring the VaVia brand to the community of Houston alongside Derek, Christina and Rashad,” said Nappi. “With construction projects in Houston on the rise, demand for our waste removal services is at an all-time high.”

As the franchise embarks on its ambitious expansion efforts, CEO Tim Wells says he is confident that franchisees like Derek, Christina and Rashad will grow with the brand.

“Through our tech-forward approach and commitment to providing our customers with top tier service, we’re confident that Derek, Christina and Rashad will continue to grow in Houston as VaVia continues to expand through its franchise ownership opportunity across the country,” Wells said. “Our business is bringing a white glove service approach to the waste industry, particularly in the construction services segment. That level of commitment to customer service can’t be found anywhere else. Our model is also customer facing and designed to provide an ease of doing business that’s otherwise lacking in the industry. We’re looking forward to entering Houston, introducing them to the VaVia brand and growing relationships within the community.”

In addition to Derek, Christina and Rashad’s opening, VaVia is looking for multi-unit franchise partners to operate 15 additional territories in Houston.

The total cost to invest in VaVia ranges from $117,150 to $365,050 per territory. To learn more about franchising with VaVia, visit: https://www.govavia.com/franchise-with-us/
