Typhoon Texas Recognized With Waterpark Industry Awards for Excellence

Having received awards for outstanding achievement in safety and employee training, Typhoon Texas has added to its trophy case with four awards in marketing excellence as presented at the World Waterpark Association’s 41st Annual Symposium and Trade Show in San Antonio.

The Texas-themed waterpark and entertainment destination, with locations in Houston and Austin, was presented with 2021 Wave Review awards for Best Billboard, Best Print Media, Best Social Media Campaign and Best YouTube Campaign.

“The awards are a credit to our team and marketing partners who collaborate to create innovative and memorable campaigns that connect with Texas families,” says Evan Barnett, president of Typhoon Texas.

The waterpark’s social media campaign, “Kick Family Time Up a Notch,” presented humorous, engaging vignettes across Facebook and Instagram as the perfect antidote to summer boredom.  As an extension to the waterpark’s social media campaign, entertaining “Kick Family Time Up a Notch” YouTube videos targeted families looking for ways to get more out of their summer.

Both were instrumental in helping Typhoon Texas strike a chord with families looking for ways to shake up their summer routine, Barnett adds.

Entries for the World Waterpark Association’s Wave Review Awards are judged by marketing and advertising professionals working outside the water leisure industry with entries divided by attendance classification to ensure parks of similar size and budget compete against one another.

“It’s a great thrill to be recognized from among the world’s top attractions,” Barnett says. “Last season was one of our best and we’re working to build on that for next summer.”

2022 season passes for both the Houston and Austin waterparks are now on sale at TyphoonTexas.com.  Season pass holders enjoy unlimited admission to both Typhoon Texas waterparks, 15% off food, non-alcoholic drinks, fast passes, cabanas and retail purchases, discounted 2022 any-day guest ticket and cashless wristband.

Both waterparks offer dozens of attractions featuring more than a mile of exhilarating slide paths, Texas-sized wave pool, Lazy River the length of more than five football fields and children’s Gully Washer with a massive, 800-gallon bucket, slides and more than 100 spray areas. Both are open daily from Memorial weekend through Memorial Day weekend.

Typhoon Texas is located west of Houston at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd. next to Katy Mills Mall, 1.5 miles west of the Grand Parkway. Its north Austin waterpark is located at 18500 TX-130 North Service Road in Pflugerville. Both offer free onsite parking, free tubes and life jackets.
