Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives arrested a fugitive connected to a robbery that occurred in the Mission Bend subdivision.

Deputies arrested Johnny Ray Rodgers, 29, at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. They made the arrest as Rodgers tried to flee on foot after the vehicle he was riding in had been stopped.

Deputies said Rodgers has been known to live at various apartment complexes in the Mission Bend area of Fort Bend County and west Harris County. Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force helped with the arrest.

Rodgers is in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail. He is charged with robbery on a $150,000 bond, in addition to an outstanding parole revocation warrant without bond for an earlier burglary of habitation charge.

“This arrest was the result of a coordinated effort to apprehend Rodgers who has evaded capture since August of this year,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan said. “I applaud the fine efforts of both our officers and the task force for locating this suspect.”
