The Katy Independent School District is hosting two education summits, open to the public, as it prepares to update its strategic plan.
The first summit is set for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 21 at Morton Ranch High School, 21000 Franz Road.
The second summit is set for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26 at Tompkins High School, 4400 Falcon Landing Blvd.
A light dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. at both events, the district said.
In a news release, the district said it will seek input on various topics, including:
- The skills and competencies needed for students now and in the future.
- Preparing schools to effectively deliver educational opportunities.
- Well-being/mental health resources to help students succeed in school.
Dr. Andrea Grooms, the district’s chief communications officer, said attendees will have a chance to learn about the district’s K-12 experiences through the eyes of a student panel.
“Participants will engage in facilitated brainstorming sessions designed to inform the development of the district’s upcoming two-year strategic plan,” Grooms said.
Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP.
