Katy Lions Club Proudly displays Peace Posters at Katy City Hall

The Katy Lions Club was proud to display in Katy City Hall the winning Peace Posters from the 2019 and 2020 Peace Poster Contest on May 20, 2021.  Mayor Bill Hastings and Kathy Jo, his executive secretary; Lions Barbara LeBoff and Carol Barnett were in attendance.

Brianna T. developed the winning poster for the theme “Kindness Matters” as an eighth grader in Morton Ranch Junior High (Terrence Clark, art teacher).  Vincent Y.’s winning poster is on the theme “Peace Through Service”.  He was a sixth grader at Tays Junior High at the time (Elias Reyes, art teacher).

Contest is open to youth from 11 to 13 years of age (by November 15 of the contest year).  This contest enables young artists to express their ideas artistically based on a theme of peace.  Past winners can be viewed at www.lionsclub.org/grand prize winners.
