Joe Wojcik has withdrawn as a candidate for the Position 6 seat on the Katy Independent School Board of Trustees, reportedly in objection to social media postings involving the Position 7 race also on the ballot.

The withdrawal of Wojcik, a security investigator and adjunct college professor, leaves five candidates vying for the seat. Incumbent Susan Gesoff, an engineer, is seeking reelection to what would be her second term on the board.

The other four candidates are Rebecca Fox, a former trustee; Bonnie Anderson, an assessor quality management analyst; William X. Branch, a truck driver; and Garima DGupta, a teacher.

Early voting is April 19-19. Election Day is May 1.
