Reinventing Public Education for the Future

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce’s Education Division will host an informative event that will provide an update from Raise Your Hand Texas with Dr. Robert Long, III. This educational session will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM and offer in-person and via Zoom options. In-person attendance will be limited with lunch beginning at 11:30 AM and the program starting at 12:00 PM.

Dr. Long is the Regional Director for Advocacy and Outreach-West Houston for the RYHT Foundation and comes to the organization with 21 years in public education, having served as a campus principal at both the elementary and secondary levels. He will guide us in a conversation about the RYHT Foundation, the impact of COVID-19 on public schools, the scope of their advocacy work, and why it is crucial that we all stay engaged in this 87th legislative session and stay informed with legislative action that impacts Fort Bend ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD, and Stafford MSD.
