Patrick Henry Maddren Points out Ways to Stay Healthy amid COVID-19

All nations today are experiencing a mammoth crisis after the spread of the deadly coronavirus, and the US is no exception. Staying safe and healthy has now become a recent priority and concern when going out for groceries or commuting to your workplace. The COVID-19 pandemic has toppled the regular habits and lifestyles of people. Besides the fear of community infection spread, the pandemic has also threatened our health.

According to an article published on https://www.cnbc.com, WHO recommended some tips like avoiding drinking, smoking, or watching TV news for too long or too much of it. Then, when you are at home or work, here are some tips to stay healthy amid the corona pandemic:

Patrick Henry Maddren believes in staying active

If you are working from home, including long working hours than usual due to a reduced workforce, take some time out of your busy schedule to exercise or at least practice some kind of sport. It will help you to maintain physical and emotional health at these troubled times.

You can try sports like cycling, swimming, walking, or jogging in the morning before you sit before your PC to work. Try more outdoor activities to take in the fresh air in your backyard or garden, thus oxygenating the body. You can use your treadmill outdoors. Bicycling is also a good outdoor activity while practicing social distancing.

Switch to a healthy diet

Make sure you follow your state’s food and nutrition guidelines as well as avoid snacking just because you are in isolation. You can keep some healthy snacks though like salads, fruits such as sweet lime. Yogurt, nuts, and low-fat cheese are healthy eating options too.

Patrick Henry Maddren warns of watching out your portion sizes because overeating may lead to obesity or related health issues. Avoid gaining weight when you are at home most of the time. If you are working for 10-12 hours, take small breaks to have healthy snacks. Soup or salad will do you good. Try finding healthy recipes to cook at home and savor with your family.

Sleep well

You need to sleep well, at least 8-eight hours every night. Even if you are working from home for extended hours, take small power naps. Do not sleep for too long though and take naps before 3.00 pm so that you do not stay awake at night.

Go to bed at night and rise early daily and at the same time. When you are retiring to bed at night, keep your smartphone and tablet away. Avoid all kinds of screens including TV. Avoid taking tea, coffee, or alcohol to avoid sleeplessness. Even if you take any of these beverages, at least do so three hours before sleeping. You can read a book, listen to soulful music, take a bath, solve puzzles, or meditate before going to bed. These little things matter a lot when it comes to sound sleep.

Conclusion

Keep these tips in mind to stay healthy and well at these troubled times. Eat healthy, exercise, and sleep soundly at night.
