The Texas Center for the Book has announced that the fifth annual Texas Authors Celebration will take place online on November 5, at 7:30 p.m. The public are invited to attend virtually.
This yearly event kicking off the Texas Book Festival features Texas authors in conversation. The 2020 celebration will begin with a door prize drawing and host introductions, the Texas Center for the Book Literacy Award ceremony (made possible by the Texas Library and Archives Foundation), and tips to navigate the 2020 Virtual Texas Book Festival.
Literature lovers will then have the opportunity to engage with authors during One Page Salon, moderated by Owen Egerton (called “the best literary evening in town” by the Austin American-Statesman).
“The Texas Authors Celebration is always a special night, a chance to hear from Texas writers and get into the spirit of the Texas Book Festival,” said Rebekah Manley, Coordinator of the Texas Center for the Book. “Normally, this event is held at the State Library and Archives in Austin, and, while we are sad that we are not able to gather in person this year, we are very excited to open this event up to readers, writers, and fans across Texas and beyond. Holding it online means that anyone can attend, without traveling to Austin. It’s going to be a great evening.”
