The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency Announces Virtual Domestic Violence Presentations

In partnership with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic

The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, a nonprofit providing Houston-area women and girls with the tools needed to be advocates for their health, announces upcoming virtual presentations in partnership with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic during the month of October for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

To ensure positive outcomes for women and girls, The Women’s Fund will continue to offer presentations at no cost to the public on relevant topics to personal physical, mental, financial, emotional, health and wellness. Each session will last 45 minutes to an hour via Zoom and will be posted afterwards on The Women’s Fund website (www.thewomensfund.org) and YouTube.

Health and Wellness Awareness Series Presentations with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic will be available online via Zoom and include: 

  • October 7 at 2 p.m. – Domestic Violence 101 with John Reyes of Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA)
  • October 14 at 2 p.m. – Supporting Survivors in the Wake of Covid-19 with Chau Nguyen of Houston Area Women’s Center
  • October 21 at 2 p.m. – Teen Dating Abuse Prevention with John Reyes of Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA)
  • October 28 at 2 p.m. – Root Causes of Violence with Martha Pacelli of Houston Area Women’s Center

The Women’s Fund Virtual Presentations will be available online via Zoom and include: 

  • October 7 at 6 p.m. – Conflict Resolution
  • October 13 at 6 p.m. – Anxiety and Mood Disorders
  • October 15 at 9 a.m. – Accountability and Responsibility
  • October 16 at 2 p.m. – Conflict Resolution
  • October 19 at 3 p.m. – Accountability and Responsibility
  • October 21 at 6 p.m. – Personal and Community Violence
  • October 22 at 9 a.m. – Conflict Resolution
  • October 27 at 6 p.m. – Accountability and Responsibility
  • October 30 at 9 a.m. – Personal and Community Violence

For 41 years, The Women’s Fund has educated girls and women in the Houston-area through classes, workshops, lectures and publications that teach resiliency skills and relate those skills to current health risks. Dedicated to ensuring positive health outcomes for individuals and communities, The Women’s Fund serves close to 12,000 women and adolescent girls and distributes 9,913 publications each year at no cost.
