Katy ISD Coordinator Honored for Promoting Health and Physical Education

KATY [September 24, 2020] – The Katy Independent School District Health & Physical Education Department strives to promote healthy and fitness-focused students that lead to great learners.  District Coordinator H.C. Grimet has been an advocate for enhancing the physical, mental, emotional and social development of all district students, at their campuses and through extracurricular activities.  His important contributions, which have enabled students to develop individual knowledge and lifetime skills as well as a “can-do” attitude, have earned him an Honor Award with the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (TAHPERD) this year. 

“It is an honor to represent Katy ISD and the outstanding physical education and health educators, who consistently provide unparalleled learning experiences for our students,” stated H.C. Grimet, Coordinator of Health Education at Katy ISD.


Grimet has served the profession for 30 years.  He has incorporated a robust curriculum of health education, physical education, recreation, and/or dance through one or more of the following:  excellence in teaching; outstanding administrative achievement; significant contribution to researcher creative endeavors; leadership in professional organizations at the state, district and national levels to include TAHPERD; as well as provided contributions to professional literature and community service.
